Ukweli Video Productions just celebrated 3 decades of Evangelizing Through Images on 18th May 2011. We are grateful top our partners and corporate clients, friends and well-wishers who graced the event and who have seen Ukweli Video through to this time and age. Being of age, Ukweli Video Productions is reaching for the stars, by becoming the first Catholic TV station in Kenya. Please read more... Brief History Ukweli Video Productions was founded on 18 May 1981 by a Maryknoll Missioner, Revd. Fr. Richard J. Quinn, as one of the first Christian professional centres in Africa. We have professional and qualified personnel who produce high quality broadcast programmes dealing with a number of issues concerning society, development, pastoral, traditional and family values. We do promotional and commercial productions on request and we boast of more than 300 productions upto date. These videos are used for home viewing and as resource material for seminars and retreats as well as teaching and counselling in schools, universities, churches and Non-Governmental Organisations. Please read more... About the Founder: Father Richard James Quinn, MM Father Richard James Quinn was born on September 27, 1926 in Passaic, New Jersey, son of William John and Mary Holland Quinn. He had four brothers and one sister, out of whom only one brother is still alive. Richard attended St. Paul's Grammar School and graduated from Pope Pius XII High School in Passaic. He entered Maryknoll Apostolic College (Venard), Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania on July 2, 1945. At Maryknoll Seminary in Ossining, New York, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in June 1949, his Bachelor of Sacred Theology degree in June 1953 and his Master of Religious Education degree in June 1954. Richard was ordained a priest in Annunciation Chapel at the Maryknoll Sisters Motherhouse, Ossining on June 12, 1954. Please read more from the Maryknoll website...
