Mission

To continue being a leading, creative, dedicated and professional video production centre that supports and compliments human initiatives, which promote moral, social, spiritual and family values for a better society.

Who we are

Ukweli Video Productions was founded in May 1981 as one of the first Christian professional centres in Africa. We have a professional staff of qualified personnel who produce high quality broadcast programmes dealing with a number of issues concerning society, development, pastoral, traditional and family values. We do promotional and commercial productions on request and we boast of more than 300 productions upto date. These videos are used as teaching and counselling tools in schools, universities, churches and many non-governmental organisations.

Ukweli Video Productions has filmed in several African countries, namely: Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Rwanda, Burundi and Zimbabwe. These programmes have been aired and continue to be aired on all the local television stations in Kenya, on Cable News Network (CNN), as well as television stations in Uganda and Tanzania. The video programmes are ideal teaching tools for schools, Non-governmental Organizations, home viewing and churches.  These high quality broadcast programmes are available in VHS, DVDS and VCDS at our offices in Westlands and our town office at Holy Family Basilica grounds.

In 2008, Father Quinn handed over Ukweli video productions to the Catholic Bishops' body in Kenya, the Kenya Episcopal Conference. Being a communication project, Ukweli Video Productions falls under the Kenya Episcopal Conference, Communications Commission.

The Communications Commission encompasses the office of the National Executive Secretary for communication which oversees and co-ordinates the Catholic Church communication activities in all the Catholic dioceses in Kenya.

In addition to co-ordinating diocesan communication functions, the communications commission has three media projects namely Ukweli Video Productions, National Mirror and Radio Waumini. While National Mirror provides the print evangelization tools, Ukweli Video Productions and Radio Waumini provide electronic means of spreading the gospel.

All these communication projects are hinged in the Kenya Episcopal Conference vision and Mission: YOU SHALL BE MY WITNESSES

Hopefully, very soon Ukweli Video Production will grow to become Ukweli television, the first Catholic television station in Kenya whose mission shall still be, EVANGELIZING THROUGH IMAGES.
